Step 1 – Accreditation Readiness Analysis: The purpose and outcome of this step is to determine your sleep lab/professional service AASM or JCAHO accreditation readiness status.  SCMI uses the latest AASM and Joint Commission accreditation survey standards.  

Step 2- Accreditation Application Review: Since both accrediting organizations place heavy weight on the application answers and related requested database information, SCMI strongly recommends that we participate with clients in its completion.  How best to answer, what to include, and related facts that accredited organizations wish to see will be provided through guidance and reviews by SCMI’s experienced accreditation preparation consultants. 

Step 3 - Technical Policies and Procedures Review: SCMI’s accreditation preparation team critically reviews your existing sleep center/lab technical policies and procedures to make sure they measure up to accreditation standards.  We highly recommend that you purchase SCMI’s latest and fully customized Technical Policies and Procedures for a Sleep Center CD, which will greatly facilitate the consultant’s work.  We have both AASM and  Joint Commission on CD.

Step 4 - Mock Review Site Visit: A mock accreditation site review is performed by an SCMI accreditation preparation specialist for your sleep lab once your team has completed its preparation and implementation of SCMI’s recommended readiness analysis actions as outlined in Step 1.  This is a complete ‘test run’ and provides valuable feedback in preparation for your actual visit.
