SLEEP SERVICES DATABASE
This is developed in Microsoft ACCESS software and has no proprietary requirements from SCMI. If you elect to add or edit a data field in the future, you have full autonomy to complete this without additional cost or support from SCMI unless you choose to gain our assistance.
The database captures each encounter for your sleep center and is searchable to use for quality assurance and marketing data, in additional to the required data repository for AASM sleep studies and sleep clinic encounters.
It can be networked and does not need additional licenses to access the data from more than one location. Since this is a database containing protected health information, it does need password protection which you should already have on any computer in your clinic since that is mandated by HIPAA privacy and your Compliance Plan.
The most efficient way to incorporate data into the database is to have the scheduling person enter the confirmed patients the night of the patients'
scheduled visit, then have the techs complete the data for type of study completed, and then have the scoring tech complete the dictated results.
Some program have the scheduling person enter all the data after the report is dictated and results are available.
